Ismail Omar our new envoy to France
The government today announced the appointment of former IGP Tan Sri Ismail Omar as our new ambassador to France.
It came a week after former PKR strongman Zahrain Hashim was named ambassador to Republic of Indonesia.

Ismail will be among the country's six new envoys who will receive their credentials from Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah at Istana Negara tomorrow.
Wisma Putra in a statement today said Malaysian High Commissioner to Australia Datuk Salman Ahmad had been named as the new ambassador to Germany.
Datuk Rohana Ramli will be the new ambassador to the Republic of Korea, Datuk Awang Sahak Awang Salleh the High Commissioner to Brunei, Raszlan Abdul Rashid the ambassador to Cambodia and Jilid Kuminding@Zainuddin the High Commissioner to Papua New Guinea.
Ismail who holds a Bachelor's degree in law from the International Islamic University Malaysia, joined the Royal Malaysian Police in 1971 and was appointed as IGP in September 2010. He retired from the force on May 17, this year.
