Shahrizat takes leave as minister

Shahrizat Jalil will be on leave for three weeks from tomorrow as Women, Family and Community Development Minister.

She has put in the leave application to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

"I hope the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will be able to undertake the investigation to determine whether I was associated with or not in any of the decisions made by the Government on the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) in which my husband, Datuk Seri Dr Mohammad Salleh Ismail, is the executive chairman," she said in a statement.

The NFC issue cropped up after the 2010 Auditor-General's Report issued last October said the corporation's cattle-breeding project in Gemas, Negeri Sembilan, to boost production and reduce import of beef had failed to meet its target.

The issue heated up following allegations by the opposition political parties of irregularities in the government allocation of RM250 million to NFC.

Speculations are rife that Shahrizat will not be chosen as a BN candidate in the next general election. Her Senate seat also will not be extended.

I don't want to speculate and contemplate. Its the prerogative rights of Najib as Umno president and Barisan Nasional chairman.

Until investigations are concluded, better not write any further...

mungkin beliau rasa perlu berbuat demikian untuk menenangkan keadaan. pembangkang masih menyerang beliau dari semua sudut.

ia juga baik bagi menjaga nama baik kerajaan dan parti.

kita tunggu lah apa keputusan siasatan sprm

She shouldn't has brought Wanita UMNO into the picture as regards the NFC scandal. It was strictly the alleged wrongdoings of her husband.

It therefore reflects her political immaturity and exposes herself to further ridicule not only by the opposition but also by some in her own Wanita UMNO itself albeit in silence.

After having lost unexpectedly in the last 2008 GE, it will cause further heartache to her as she is very unlikely to be fielded in the coming 13th GE.

It would appear that there is no happy ending after having ousted her mentor Rafidah Aziz in the last party election.

apa jadi pada jawatan ketua wanita umno nanti?

That's a politician life. When it's time to go, they wait for no one, not even Ketua Wanita Umno. Better get out now before she get booted by the rakyat during GE13. I am sure it's worth her while. She probably come back as chairman of some GLC's. She must realised that its no longer the opposition but fellow BN supporters as well who is against her.

well, nathan, RM250million is a hefty price for us taxpayers but it should be more than enough to buy her lembu, condos, mercedes etc to keep her happy in retirement.
