To start with, AirAsia boss Tony Fernandes has invited MAHB's Tan Sri Bashir Ahmad to AirAsia's 10th anniversary celebration tomorrow, which I personally believe will also be attended by Datuk Seri Najib, Azman Mokhtar (the man in the net?) and major players of the aviation industry.
Good one. After all the bickering and tug-of-war games, its time for both parties to sit down and settle the dispute. A business truce should augur well in seeing the budget airline and the only airport manager/builder brush aside any unwanted elements that may cause hiccup to their business.Tony spoke to The Star two hours after the AirAsia press conference where 10 of its executives demanded for a service level agreement (SLA) from MAHB before the carrier moved to KLIA2 in April 2013. And later on, MAHB issued a statement to challenge the press conference.
“We wish to continue working closely with all our partners to address any issues that may arise and will do so through a proper working forum as we believe this is the best and most objective way to do so.
"MAHB believes that any disagreements in public are neither good for the image nor in the best interest of the country,'' Tony said.
Ironically, when the AirAsia press conference was going on, Fernandes tweeted to say that one of the letters posted on MAHB website was fake, but quickly changed it to say that what he meant was the argument was 'fake'', not the letter.
I hope Bashir will reciprocate positively. I will also attend AirAsia's anniversary tomorrow, hoping to see no punches thrown at anybody...

As I have expected and anticipated, Azman is not THE man. He deserves to be totally out of the picture. It needs someone from the PM's Department or the PM himself to handle and settle the issue.
Najib should know better. The longer the controversy is allowed to dangle, the more he is exposing himself to political risk.
But then, I should view the impending truce with caution. Knowing Fernandes, he may have something up in his sleeve. To quote Mao Tse Tung, 'one step back two steps forward.'

I think you are aware that Fernandes is scouting around for a new stadium to replace the present one which, according to him, is too small to cater to the rising attendence at QPR.
Is he going to fleece MAS money, our money, again the way he did when he took over the football club?
So be cautious of the nice words that sprout from his mouth whilst working out the truce.

TF must have sensed that the public is not with him on the issue of increased airport tax. The public have realized that AA itself is imposing too many charges lately which is really burdening their clients, especially so now that AA is becoming a monopoly on some routes after clipping the wings of Firefly. Thus he is retreating till he gets another issue to fight on with MAHB.
Meanwhile let us work to strengthen our aviation industry by first removing Amok and his sidekick Danny Boy and replacing AJ with someone with some backbone to helm MAS. TF can remain in AA as he has great ideas on how to do things from nothing. Remember he developed AA from nothing. Anyway somebody must think how to deploy 300 planes that he ordered recently. Hopefully the nation won't be made to pay for that should the AA bubble burst.
