Yooo! Stop it la. Enough is enough. All Malaysians should respect each others religion and culture. No need to seek cheap publicity and to be seen as 'stupid public heroes' for disputing things that have been around us for years, hundreds of years.
A Malaysian Insider story about Malaysian Consultative Council for Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism (MCCBCHST) questioning the 'logic' behind Aidiladha cow and goat slaughterings, is drawing anger from Muslims.
I thought Malaysians are already used to such religious rituals, just like Thaipusam and Hungry Ghost Festival. We had never questioned the rights of the believers.
Come on. Don't court trouble by disputing things you already know and aware of. Why only now you raise the matter and not 30 or 50 years ago? If one points to your agenda to help the Opposition, are you able to deny it?
Don't be stupid and pretending to be naive.
Last Friday, the non-Muslim faith council called on the authorities to end the ritualistic sacrifice of cows in school grounds and institutes of higher learning, saying such public spaces were unsuitable for a ceremony that was observed by only one community.
Ikatan Muslimin Malaysia (Isma), Malaysian Islamic Youth Movement (Abim) and Persatuan Ulama Malaysia (PUM) issued a statement yesterday to protest MCCBCHST.
But the MCCBCHST said the activity ignored the sensitivity of Malaysia’s multiracial nd multicultural student population, and warned it could “escalate into something undesirable in the future”, pointing to cows which are regarded as sacred by the Hindus.
And what do you mean by 'something undesirable'? Looks like you simply incited non-Muslims to protest such a ritual!
Please lor! Let's live in full respect, understanding and tolerance.
However, for one sure thing - I personally don't agree such rituals be carried out in school compounds! We have enough mosques, surau and other places for it.
