After considering its adverse implication on those involved - Rais, Rocky and the government - let me suggest a simple solution: shake hands and get back to work. I also realise that my previous posting which called for pro-govt bloggers to stay away from Galas and Batu Sapi by-elections (here) was a bit overboard and made things worse.If both parties agree, they should meet up soon. After all, Rocky is the adviser of Bernama TV which comes under Rais ministry.
We can understand why the minister lost his balance after reading Rocky's Bru posting about the possibility of Rais son being awarded a telco contract recently. Well, Rais got every reason to be furious while as a blogger, Rocky was just putting up the questions without accusing the minister of anything.
Rais could have made the police report against Rocky out of his anger but as the repercussion turned unpleasant, I think the minister is a bit sober by now to notice the ugly side of such an action.
So, I think Bukit Aman should return Rocky's notebook and modem. Similarly, the MCMC should cease its investigation before things get uglier as it would be bad not only for both parties but also for the government.
After a discussion with pro-govt bloggers a few hours ago, and after Big Dog related what Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said earlier in the day, I hereby declare my full support towards Rais-Rocky 'reconciliation'.
We got more important things to attend to as a team. To err is human. So, let us put the ugly episode behind.
I hope Rais and Rocky agree... and I also believe my fellow-bloggers would like to see it settled.

Both Dato Rais and Dato Ahiruddin need to get this misunderstanding cleared fast.
In Rocky's article, the headline is in the form of a question?
If Dato Rais hasn't misused his position as the Minister of Information, Communications and Culture and has not favored his son in the giving of the grant, then by all means he should set the record straight and openly disclosed the recipients through the media.
This sets a bad precedent which will affect the relations between the Ministry and us Bloggers.
Best thing to do for both parties is to shake hands and move on!

What I and Datuk Rocky intended to do is to safeguard the strategic interest of helping PM Dato Seri Najib's deliver his plans. 'Transparency' is in the smack of it!
But no! Rais's 'pride' is paramount. Defies logic and the fact is that he has been in mainstream politics for 40 years, they way he flipped flabbergasted so many people.
I posted the piece on Friday morning. Datuk Rocky did nit pick it up till Saturday evening. It was a quiet weekend.
Suddenly by mid morning on Monday, Penerangan guys went helper skelter like a bunch of headless-wet-hens whose coop are on fire! Then it's official. MSM quoted the Minister as "attempt of character assassination and will make a police report".
by 530pm, one of the Director General reporting to the Minister tried to arrange for Rocky and I to meet up with the man himself. It never happened even though we were both ready to drop everything, just to honour the man.
Mid day Tuesday, IPD Dang Wangi got a police report by the aggrieved man himself. Few hours later, MCMC officer already called Datuk Rocky to set an appointment.
Imagine the speed!
Police report has already been made. "the wheels are in motion".
Rais being a Cabinet member and MT Umno must be responsible for his inability to think on Mid day Monday and pander to his emotions that over came the better judgment of a man respected to be a cultured politician and possess a PhD in law from the UK.
Rais "Burned bridges" before, a few times too often. It looks like he burnt this one too, with the Police report.
My father used to tell me "look before you leap"' at the same time when Rais started in politics. He should know this cliche!

Kalau Rais baru setakat cakap nak buat report Polis, bolehlah bincang kenapa Rocky link tulisan aku. Boleh kita terangkan.

Polis kena buat kerja. MCMC kena buat kerja. Kalau tak buat kerja, nanti Pembangkang kata Polis atau MCMC pilih kasih pulak.
Kalau dah buat report Polis, Rais tanggunglah akibatnya. Ini zaman demokrasi digital. Maknanya boleh ditelanjangkan Rais dan/atau keluarga dia dalam blog atau kat Mahkamah.
Kedua dua akan dapat perhatian. Hanya masa sahaja yang membezakan.
Ko kena tanya siapa sebenar 'batu api'. Yang tak mau Rocky berdamai dengan Rais selepas report Polis ATAU yang bakar emosi Rais sampai dia buat report Polis.
Kalau nasi dah jadi bubur, salahkan siapa yg biar nasi tu yg jadi bubur.
P/S: Untuk makluman ko, ramai pemimpin kanan UMNO sendiri dan para wartawan menggangap Rais BODOH pi buat report Polis!
