Musa, Bakri face contempt of court

Ex-IGP Musa Hassan and Bukit Aman's director of CID Bakri Zinin were ordered to be present at the Kuala Lumpur High Court at 8.30am, 28 Oct. Both were accused of contempt following the police's decision to re-arrest two youths whom the High Court here had ordered to be released from detention under the Emergency Ordinance (EO).

Good decision by Justice Mohd Sofian Razak when dismissing the argument of senior federal counsel Najib Zakaria, that nobody is above the law.

R Muniyandi, 26, from Kluang and B Sasinthiran, 28, of Kuala Selangor, were detained under the EO for their alleged involvement in gangsterism and other criminal related activities.

The duo had succeded in obtaining a habeas corpus writ from the High Court here but were re-arrested immediatly after they stepped out from the Simpang Renggam detention centre in Johor.

On Sept 30, both men had succeeded in their application to initiate contempt proceedings against Musa and Bakri for not complying with the court's order to release them.

Musa is currently performing umrah.

they deserve it.

they thought they were above the law. bakri should be taught a lesson for what he did.

being a senior police officer doesnt warrant anybody to act as they wish!

hope the court finds them guilty...

musa is a civilian now. bakri too will in a few years time. by then, they would have to learn how to become a civilian and abide by the rule and law.

police deals a lot with civilians. some police officers treat civilians like dirt. to some extent, small cases were engineered to be big as to satisfy their wits and anger.

some cases were 'closed' because of good connection with the people involved.

its time to look back at the integrity of the police force. hisham should...

let the court decide.

however, i believe there were reasons why they acted such.

the police normally studies such a case within their scope of duty.

there were reasons why the duo were re-arrested.

putting the blame solely on the police is not fair.

Polis patut lepaskan saja kedua gengster India tu.

Is there a different between acting personally and acting in the course of official duty

Imagined another "Sosilawati" happenening if no action taken against the duo! Remember that people are blaming the police for not "acting" against the Banting lawyers. I believed that our police are very professional and any untoward incidents against the public were unavoidable.
