Eyes on blogs

OUCH! Beware bloggers and news portals. Home Ministry is setting up a special committee to monitor what you write. Anything to do with racism and other 'harmful' posting and articles, you will walk to jail for free.

Looks like the Internet is causing big problems, not only to Malaysia but in other countries. Since we are multi-racial and multi-religious, such postings and stories inciting racial unrest have gone beyond control. U-Tube, for instance is most popular in displaying such unwanted videos.

Home ministry deputy secretary general for security Abdul Rahim Mohamad Radzi said the unit would involve the police, Internet regulators, the information ministry and the attorney general's chambers.

"It is a mechanism that will coordinate these various agencies to help monitor what is being said in cyberspace and to take action against those that are trying to stoke racial tensions and disunity," he told AFP here.

Abdul Rahim said the group would also monitor alternative and mainstream media for similar content.

Fair, dont you think so?

rais and hisham are collaborating well... but both are already at the edge of getting ousted in the next general elections and umno election.

to monitor is ok but to dictate is wrong.

what hisham and rais are doing is against the press freedom. yes, we dont encourage racism and religious issues to be heated up but sooner or later bloggers will also not allowed to criticize the govt.

god damn it1

who's idea was it? hisham or rais or najib?

what else to you people want to control?

just for zooming on racial and religious issues is good. things are getting out of control nowadays when so many bloggers and websites play inciting issues.

the govt should come down hard on these people or the whole nation will be in disarray.

good move, rais!

memang patut pun, bro.

aku banyak baca blog dan portal. ramai bloger yang melampau dan menaikkan darah sesetengah kaum. tak payah sebut la tapi sendiri mau ingat la.

jangan main isu kaum dan agama ni. bahaya beb!

racial?

then, you better include utusan malaysia on the list.

the newspaper is more racist than others who were reprimanded for racism!

hmmmm....

what's next, rais?

what about hisham? i thot he himself would be making the statement

not an easy task. new blogs come up every day in thousands.

another problem is to identify those without identity, like the unspinners as an example.

the only choice is for the multimedia commission to block it

soalnya, sejauh mana kerajaan berani bertindak?

dicky said...

i suppport the move as a pre-emptive strike against irresponsible bloggers!

go ahead kdn!

bukan saja isu kaum dan agama, malah blog yang menyerang secara teruk peribadi seseorang, fitnah dan mencerca harus dipadamkan.

jasman said...

lets see if kdn will act more on pro-govt or pro-opp blogs.

i hope they are sincere and not bias

Bujai.

As had been said " Melayu amat bijak" dan kebijaksanaan mereka bermula bila mereka mendapat tempat bergelar "pemimpin".

You look around among the Malay leaders, Once they were at that position(leader) , other people's opinion stands no where. They forced others to accept and implement their stupid ideas that in the end it goes no where. A very good example is the policies of our great, great and very stupid "Slumberjack" programes and projects.

Its most welcomed with the now Government ideas to monitor adverse posting in the cyberspace. But my only hope is that what ever that had been written and divulged in the postings , the Government is to ensure that action be taken on all concerned including the fact of allegations , the complainants, the people that are being implicated and the result of any enquiry that is to be made public.

The body that had been formed by YAB Dato Seri Najib's Government can now kick start to investigate the allegations (any thing lah) involving one personality ie. Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.Make sure that the Government action is transparent.

Kalau hanya sekadar ikan bilis sahaja yang hendak disiasat dan dikenakan tindakan jadi , ketidakadilan lah jawapnya.Contohnya Hasan Skoding.
Apa punya cerita Tan Sri Ghani Patail. Itu lawak jenaka sahaja BAAAAA.

Saya nak tanya apakah pemimpin UMNO dah sedar diri atau mereka masih sebuk mengaut kekayaan sampai hari ini sebab mereka sendiri tahu PRU 13 akan meletakkan mereka ditempat yang sebenarnya. Selepas itu baru mereka sedar bahawa mereka sebenarnya "Tak Pandai" macam mana pun. Hanya pandai menipu rakyat untuk kepentingan peribadi.Terlalu ramai dalam katagori ini.

Saya pun ahli UMNO.

why not set a task force to access yourself, hisham?

also for rais!

both issues - race and religion - are getting so delicate to handle. that s why the govt has to monitor blogs and other media in order to contain the spread of hatred among malaysians.

i spport the move by home ministry although it may annoy many bloggers and media players.

bagus sangat la tu.

ada blog yang macam celaka jahatnya. blog begini patut ditutup serta merta sebab memainkan sentimen kaum. bahaya!

Kecik dulu petah cakap salah, mak cubit mulut.

Tabika, sebut perkataan kesat, mak cabai mulut

Sekolah keluar cakap kasar cikgu kasi rotan

Dalam pejabat cakap pandai sikit, kawan kerja guna santau

Dengan client silap bahasa saja kena buang kerja

Berduan cakap2 dgn cewet, kena tangkap basah

Silap kasar cakap dengan bini, pak mertua asah parang

Skodeng cakap lawak2 sudah kena saman

Tak mampu bayar saman, tangkap masuk lokap

Buka blog cakap racist, kena tahan ISA
