A pathetic Merdeka eve!

No celebration, no countdown and no fireworks. It killed the spirit of Merdeka at Dataran Merdeka. About 30,000 people, including foreigners who jammed the Dataran and the Sultan Abdul Samad building, left in frustration.

Why? Is Ramadan a deterring factor? Does the government want to save money on fireworks? Or those on top have lost the sense of patriotism!

Hey! Come on la Najib! This is Malaysia! Do you know that thousands of Malaysians from all walks of life flocked the Dataran - in a true 1Malaysian spirit - to share one important bond which can bring them closer? The Merdeka celebration lar!

Malays, Chinese, Indians, Sikhs and others were seen grouping together, forgetting race, religion and colors in an event that should augur well in bringing success to your 1Malaysia concept. They are our people, our Malaysians. Do you think its easy to make them as one without an important event like this?

And we are sidelining the historic Sultan Abdul Samad building. Just because we already have Putrajaya and other venues for our National Day official parade, why cant we maintain the annual Merdeka eve celebration there? At least, Rais Yatim's ministry can arrange a countdown to Merdeka celebration and some fireworks there!

Some tourists whom I met there an hour ago was also frustrated. No firework and no countdown like we used to have. Can I suggest that we demolish Sultan Abdul Samad building as it plays no more role for Merdeka celebration?

What is Rais doing? Trying to save money? You expect everybody to go to Bukit Jalil for the official celebration? Please la bro! You are the Minister of Information, Culture and Heritage. What do Sultan Abdul Samad building and Dataran Merdeka mean to Malaysia and Malaysians?

Dont talk about unity if you people up there fail to recognise the importance of such events. When will you ever get the similar chance to see them gathering as one again? Hari Raya? Chinese New Year? Or your birthday?

And did you yourself see how many cars hoisted the Jalur Gemilang this year? So pathetic! Why? Better ask and answer it yourself!

bujai, our leaders are full of ideas but they just dont know what is best to support the ideas and turn it into reality.

as u mentioned, 1malaysia is best developed out of events like the merdeka eve celebration and other festivals.

such events are useful in bringing our people closer but some of our leaders are so shortsighted!

rais yatim? no comment...

why so angry bro?

whether 1malaysia works out well or not, dont give it a damn if najib himself fails to identity the importance of such events.

betul bang. dah tak ramai kibar bendera malaysia kat kereta. semangat tu macam dah hilang. sambutan malam merdeka pun dah tak bermakna. dulu masa dr mahathir, cukup meriah. sejak paklah dan najib ni, macam sambutan berkhatan je!

selamat bersahur, sdr

bukannya kita tak cintakan negara tetapi dah meluat terhadap pemerintahnya.

sebab itulah sebagai tanda protes, tak ramai yang kibarkan bendera malaysia sempena merdeka ni

that's what happens when our leaders are too blind to see the fact that merdeka eve celebration plays a big role to malaysians.

they are more like school teachers who only know how to teach but they themselves never learnt anything from what they teach!

as for rais yatim, its time for him to go

how to appreciate independence if the leaders too are not patriotic about the significant of celebrating its eve at dataran merdeka?

just because they have housed themselves in putrajaya, everything has to be held and celebrated over there.

next year, we can have it at najib's residence!

jai,

It is undeniable that malays are stupid, incapable and lazy. Why don't they just humbly admit the facts and repent and learn from other races especially Chinese?

What is the point to argue here and wasting time again?

From the first onwards we were merely telling the truths. It wasn't us who think that way but their own Badawi as well.

All malays should go and read the newspaper, even Badawi is ashamed of maintaining the NEP after 34 years of implementing it and these malay baboons are still asking for it.

Even Badawi wanted them to compete on a level playing field.

So what does all these tell the world? It sends a very clear message that it is malays themselves who are incapable and lazy and they don't even want to admit it and make a change!

That is the biggest shame of all.

Can't you see, it is all back to square one. Year in, year out, some talk for half an hour, some one, some two. Some sing, many belt out their most recent released 'pantun'.

After all. Malays are good at that. Suggestions after suggestions, some good, some impossible to realize.

But, do you see any of these materialised? Hardly. Why, why and why???

Because the malays can never change. Never! Why?

The leaders forgot it or were they simply didn't want to address and admit that the actual disease is the malays and the remedy itself is also, the malays. They can never change. What is it about the malays?

Firstly as you all know, they are a lazy species. Since the beginning of time they have been like that. Even the encyclopedia called them as lazy people. I think those British with their accent tried to call them 'malas', and if you put 'y' in, it becomes 'malays'.

Embracing Islam make them a worse lot. Now they have a license to kill anything that gets into their way.

Malays are ungrateful lot. In reality, they just can't live or open their minds for others. When Mahathir said that they are complacent, they put him in jail. When Mahathir encouraged them to learn English language, they got angry with him, saying it is a 'bahasa penjajah'.

When other races 'maju', they got angry with them too. That was why at the end of Mahathir his regime, he said this, "I have achieved greatness as a prime minister, but I only fail in one thing, changing the malays."

Well, nothing to be surprised about anyway since Mahathir is not really a malay, and I guess that was why the malays were angry with him.

Drug abuse, hate, incest, liberal extremism (culture of miniskirts and gay marriages), murder, parochialism, racism, rape, religious fanaticism, snatch theft, spoilt bratty behavior, tribalism, wife abuse, child abuse, all that is associated with the malay race.

To them, malay is the biggest impediment towards building a truly Malaysian nation, and should be chucked into the dustbins of history.

A genetically flawed race cannot be fixed by politically. Nature will take its course and globalization will put them out to pasture.

What have we got now?

Brain drain, economic disparity getting wider, poor education system, racial segregation, widespread corruption, inefficiency and uncompetitive on the government departments and others.

Sad. Sad. Sad. The question asked by many of my fellow Chinese is this - Why can't you just tell the malay peoples to adopt Chinese culture which is superior?

From research, this peninsular was part of the Siamese empire way before these malays from Indonesia invaded it.

Still so thick skin, don't want to go back to Indonesia!

Salam Sdr Jai,

Good man, your writing does not reflect that you are really 'good man'but instead it shows that you are not only men of evil,filty-minded and full of hatred but also uncivilised creature, lack of good manners and proper up bringing.

Your acute lack of manners, goaded by pure sense of hatred and blinded by evil desire to let out and spew your venom against other fellow citizen of different ethnic forces you to come rudely into this blog to say something compeletly irrelevant to the topic of dicussion.

So, if you feel that Malaysia is not good enough for you please,by all mean, feel free to go back to the place where your ancestor came from. This country, certainly, will be a better place without people like you and your kind.Good riddance, good man.
