The eroding patriotism...

I felt like an alien while taking a drive around the capital city yesterday. So many eyes were on me, as if I was committing a crime. Why? I was (perhaps) the only one hoisting the Jalur Gemilang on my car. A few minutes later, I saw another national flag hoisted on a garbage truck.

Just 10 more days to National Day and it has been almost two weeks since the government launched the 'Kibarkan Jalur Gemilang' to encourage Malaysians getting more patriotic about their own country.

Nope! Things are not like 10 or 20 years ago when Malaysians really took part in it. What's happening here? Are Malaysians losing their sense of belonging or just couldnt care less about Hari Kebangsaan? Or they rather save their money on a RM1 flag but spend a few hundred ringgit on other things (like wine and dine), just like taking a long drive in order to avoid paying a 50 sen toll?

And how many of our kids and the younger generation today can recite Rukun Negara and understand it?

Poor Malaysia! You are being forgotten...

bujai,

so many things changed after mahathir. malaysians became more individualistic, they lost their spirit of brotherhood and became so possessive of their race and religion.

dato najib needs more than political power in attending to such problems.

as you mentioned, they are willing to take a long route rather than paying a 50 sen toll!

between a RM1 flag and a RM12 mug of beer...

most will choose the mug, especially they non-Malays.

the non-malays are the proud ones. they become rich in malaysia but are not thankful to the country!

hidup PERKASA!

Salam Bro.

"Apa mau?," soalnya.

"Beli bendera baru, turunkan bendera koyak. Saya sakit mata tengok hujung bendera disimpulkan itu macam. Bendera kasi kibar, bukan kasi ikat," jawab saya.

"You orang mana?," tanya saya kepada pelayan.

"India," jawabnya.

"Permit sudah mati kan?," soal saya lagi.

A closed question posted to him.

Currently I am in Johor Bahru, Johor, just like in KL, I can hardly see Malaysia flags dikibarkan.

If you scrutinise the constitution, vernacular schools should not be funded by the govt because it is against the official language.

It goes against 1Malaysia, goes against nation building. Worse it encourages affiliation to a foreign country through a systematic indoctrination of a value system and cultures of foreign country.

Moreover the original aim of these vernacular schools are now rendered OBSOLETE, since these aliens decided to embrace Malaysian citizenship.

As simple as that: VS have outlived their very objective which is to send all these aliens back to their country of origin.

No two ways about it - abolish vernacular schools if you claim yourselves as TRUE Malaysians.

This would be the acid test of loyalties.

I put up a RM1 car flag, and it flew off after 4 hours. Replaced it with a free flag distributed during a fly JG campaign.

hari merdeka ni dah macam hari raya. makin lama, makin tak meriah.

kenapa agaknya ek?

the non-malays are obvious, they dont bother about national day. what matters most to them is to make money by manipulating the name malaysia!

kebanyakan rakyat malaysia sendiri dah tak hiraukan erti kemerdekaan.

sedih...

Fly Jalur Gemilang stated eroding since 2007 since the DS Rais Yatim took charge of this event. Not like Datuk Kadir who personally committed to ensure programme Kibar Jalur Gemilang to be implemented successfully. What happen to Kembara Jalur Gemilang? What happen to annually event organised by Persatuan teksi Semalaysia. What happen to MPs who suppose to organise Kibar Jalur Gemilang in the parliment area? What happen to Majlis Belia Malaysia who suppose to be spearheaded the programme? What happen to the government budget to buy Jalur Gemilang as part of PEMAKIN for rakyat to fly Jalur Gemilang? ASK DS RAIS YATIM !!!if this minister to take charge in next year 2011 , the campaign Kibar Jalur Gemilang will become even worse because he dont take people advise.

Salam Sdr Bujai,
