Hamas bans women's underwear from shop windows

I was reading JerusalemPost on-line when I came across this headline, Hamas bans women's underwear from shop windows...

It reads, 'The Hamas Islamic movement that controls the Gaza Strip has banned shops from displaying women’s underwear in their windows, saying it offends public morality'.

The prohibition is intended to “restore public morals in Palestinian society,” according to an e-mailed statement sent Thursday by Hamas police spokesman to the newspaper. “The police will also launch investigations into the conduct of the store owners to avoid any suspicious behavior with female customers,” the statement said.

I personally think it was a wise move, especially in a country where Islamic Law is fully observed. I dont know about Malaysia - some may object to it while many would agree.

However, let us hope PAS would not get an idea to politicise this issue and ask the government to follow suit. How about women's rights campaigners?

only the sick one will treat the undergarments as anything else that as the clothing to safe-guard ourselves health and for our comfortability!

apa ni bro. pagi jumaat aku bukak blog kau, dah ada gambar suar dalam pompuan.

tapi bila aku baca, menarik gak citer ni. aku rasa la kan, memang patut peraturan tu dibuat di malaysia ni. moden macam mana pun, kita tak mau maruah wanita jadi murah macam tu.

kita ni nama je negara islam tapi kita terlepas pandang benda macam ni.

kita tanya pendapat majlis fatwa kebangsaan....

salam,

however, i support such a ban by hamas. we should impose it here too

islam doesnt allow the exhibit of underwear of both sexes. i personally support what hamas has done. in fact a few countries in the middle east have regulated such. malaysia should follow suit

Panties should be sold under counters.

what's wrong dude?

if we can allow ads such as liquor and others, why not women's underwear?

absurd to those who support hamas action. the situation here and in lebanon is totally different
