Someone's asking for an envoy job

The new Dewan Rakyat session convenes next Monday, March 15. It would be an interesting 'new scenario' that our sole Independent Member of Parliament Ibrahim Ali will have 5 new members, all of whom were PKR MPs who defected recently. We all know who they are.

However, I would like to see whether former premier and MP for Kepala Batas Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, Kuala Kangsar's Rafidah Aziz and a few more who were absent most of the time in the previous seatings, attend it this time.

Also, the seating arrangement for Ibrahim and his new team mates.

Most interesting is whether a former senior Cabinet minister will attend to his/her seat. Rumors are rife that the person has been applying pressure on Prime Minister Najib Razak to appoint him/her as an ambassador to any part of Europe.

I think I've read somewhere about this recently. And I also think the MP will not stop until the job is his/hers, just like Rompin MP Jamaluddin Jarjis or JJ who is now Malaysia's ambassador to the United States.

This ''someone'' had last year lost a bid to defend a party post. Many believe he/she is not anymore keen to serve as an MP and would like to 'escape' the humiliation by becoming an envoy.

The excuse - if Najib can appoint JJ, why not make another ambassador from among the MPs? Wow......

nothing is wrong if the pm wants to appoint the person as an ambassador.

in some countries, one of the criteria for the appointment of an envoy is, the person must be a lawmaker.

a lawmaker makes a good diplomat as the exposure to varieties of condition and working atmosphere in politics.

jj is a good example. he used to be a senior minister and has traveled worldwide, having so many friends and contacts. this is a good value as an ambassador to the states.

tak kisah paklah datang ke tak. dia dah penah jadi pm, dah ada jasa sedikit-sebanyak.

sekurang-kurangnya kita hormat dia sebagai bekas pm.

jangan bezakan paklah dengan pm yang lain. bukan senang nak sampai tahap tu... bukan calang2 orang

yes! tajuk utama mestilah brahim ali si katak tu.

tapi aku salute dia sebab dia berani. dah tubuh perkasa pulak tu dan diiktiraf ramai.

minggu depan dapat lima kawan baru, tak kira la diorang tu akan lompat sana-sini lepas tu. yang penting, brahim tak keseorangan.

sebagai wakil bebas, mereka berhak bantai kedua-dua pihak, kerajaan dan pembangkang. inilah kelebihan calon bebas walaupun takda kuasa buat apa-apa tapi skurang-kurangnya dia lantang bersuara dan pendapatnya diterima.

i can confirm its rafidah but whats wrong anyway? she got what it takes to be a contributive envoy. europe is where she can fit in well. i hope najib can consider her

for what la that person wants to be an envoy? we already got all ambassador positions filled-up. wait until someone leaves, only then can try. unless if malaysia wants to open another mission somewhere, in countries where we are still not represented.

in my opinion, any senior minister and ex-minister can be a good ambassador.

bujai,

i dont agree an mp becoming an envoy unless he or she resigns in politics and start to learn diplomatic.

bro,

wait till we have ties with israel, maybe that person can be the first envoy to tel aviv.

Saya rasa politician sekarang ni standard cartoon dah, "TAK ADA CLASS" langsong. Kalau ikut skrip P Ramlee ... LOW CLASS

Perkhidmatan awam kita bersaiz Triple quadruple XXXXLLLL. Make do with smaller size, private sector kene ikat perot, why not civil service.

Our pension bill is getting higher, who pays eh? You and me the taxpayer lar!!!

Apa salah all these people in the multi-pension category should only chose the highest pension - one man/one woman one pension; bukan pension ADUN, pension MP, pension menteri, pension Perdana Menteri dan seterusnya.

Looks like something like this kene tunggu kucing bertandok...coz the people able to do anything about it are the very ones making those executive decisions!
Cuba-cubala fikir kepentingan rakyat, bukan tembolok sendiri!!

The post of Ambassador is crucial to us....so not any Dick, Tom and Harry can make a good Ambassador. If it is Rafidah Aziz then she is very qualified and deserves the post. She will definitely bring in more investors to Malaysia rather then some Ambassadors that we had previously who were just sitting pretty in the office.
