Pakatan Keadilan Rakyat is being hit with a spate of defections. Rumors that another 10 MPs will leave the party to join the Independents are rife amid the 'declaration' by its 12 Members of Parliament today to continue supporting the party and its leadership.
Minister of Information, Communication and Culture Rais Yatim was convinced that PKR will just 'fold up' in a matter of time. And that will leave to archrivals DAP and Pas in Pakatan Rakyat - an odd partnership. If that happens, they will have to go back to status quo.
The PKR today lost another elected representative when the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bagan Serai, Mohsin Fadzli Samsuri, announced that he was leaving the party (read h e r e), citing his lost of confidence in the struggles and political objective of the PKR and the Opposition Pact.
He was following the footsteps of the Bayan Baru MP, Datuk Seri Zahrain Mohamed Hashim, and the MP for Nibong Tebal, Tan Tee Beng, as well as former Penang deputy chief minister I, Mohammad Fairus Khairuddin, who had left the party.
The burning question here - how long will PKR survive... and what will happen to the PR pact?
