Rally: Bloggers sidelined

The peaceful rally at the Australian High Commission this morning went on as planned. No untoward incidents. The crowd was estimated at around 500 comprising members of Pemuda Umno, Pemuda MIC, Perkasa, MBM, Makkal Sakthi and a few NGOs.

However, I am disappointed. I think bloggers were sidelined. The petition signed by a group of political and diplomatic bloggers, including Datuk Rockybru, Syed Akbar, A Voice and mine failed to get to Aussie High Commissioner to Malaysia, HE Ms Penny Williams.

I was holding the petition, hoping to join KJ, his deputy Razali and a Perkasa rep into the embassy compound. Not allowed as only three persons were permitted. It was OK. I passed it to one of KJ's officials whom I dont know his name. We were cramping at the FRU barricade outside the mission. I thought the petition goes through.

When KJ and the two others left the mission about 20 minutes later, I saw the official whom I gave the petition earlier, asking him whether it went through, and he said "Tak sempat kasi KJ".

Thank you. Its my accountability. And the protest rally also turned out to be very political. In my postings earlier, I said those wanting to take part should not don any political symbols as it might give Anwar Ibrahim and supporters the edge to say that it was planned by the government.

However, everybody wants to claim credit for it. Well, take yours!

SDR,

SAYA TURUT SERTA PAGI TADI. SEPATUTNYA PRESIDEN PERSAKA IBRAHIM ALI TURUT MASUK BAGI NOTA BANTAHAN TETAPI SAYA RASA BELIAU DIPINGGIRKAN.

DARI MULA LAGI, HANYA WAKIL PEMUDA UMNO YANG BERCAKAP MENGGUNAKAN HAILER. PELUANG CUMA DIBERIKAN KEPADA MOHAN DARI MIC. TIDAK ADA PUN USAHA DIBUAT UNTUK PANGGIL WAKIL PERKASA, BLOGGER ATAU NGO UNTUK BERCAKAP SEDIKIT.

TAKPA LAH. BIARLAH PEMUDA UMNO AMBIL SEMUA ÇREDIT UNTUK RALLY HARI INI.

LAIN KALI KITA TAU LA NAK BUAT APA

yes, it turned out to be a political affair, rather than diplomatic.

when pemuda took control, others are not important anymore.

but i believe they were giving rooms to anwar and supporters to manipulate the rally as one planted by the government.

Apehallah ade bendera BN masa demo tu. Apepun tahniah sebab bjaya anjurkan demo aman ini dan jgn serik utk buat lagi. Geng-geng selempang merah sedia membantu.

It really shows that bloggers are more influential in getting things done.

I'm sure KJ and gang read the blogs and stole your initiative.

Credit to you and your co-bloggers for getting paklah to step down.

More "amalan baik" to come from bloggers ... Insyallah

Do you really count the heads - 500 people? Hope you're good in maths. I don't see more than 300 people coming.

Reading you report it was so obvious tht the target of the demo was not the Australians but to "ampu" as everybody trying to get credit.
