TDM is more than just a statesman

I would personally like to express my sincere gratitude to Tun Dr M for his attendance in Bukit Gantang yesterday. Just like the years when I was assigned to cover him, locally and abroad, I was always impressed at the way he won the hearts of the rakyat.

That's him, the true statesman whom I wished would live another 50 to 100 years for Malaysia (God willing...)

More than 3,000 people attending to his speech at Simpang, Taiping were amused with his simple yet punchy dictations.

"He is a darling," said somebody standing behind me near the stage where he and other BN leaders delivered their speeches.

My co-bloggers in the team, Rockybru, Outsyed The Box and A Voice did share similar sentiment - that Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is more than just a statesman...

bro,
as a muslim, we must learn to take on the fact that each and every person has its own good value.

dr m or paklah or najib or you yourself have got our weaknesses.

anyway, thanks for your comment.

saya terharu apabila tun masuk semula umno dan menyertai usaha memperkukuhkan parti, orang melayu dan perpaduan nasional.

meskipun sudah memasuki usia 84, beliau masih disegani dan dihormati.

saya turut berada di simpang taiping ketika beliau berucap. terasa macam beliau masih menjadi pemimpin no. 1 kita.

tdm memang tiada tandingan setakat ini. walaupun ada pihak yang tidak menyenanginya, beliau tetap seorang tokoh yang banyak berjasa kepada agama, bangsa dan negara

his presence added zest to us, especially the voters for today's by-election.

i wish all the best for tun dr mahathir and tun dr siti hasmah mohd ali.

if there is really a reincarnation, i wish he will be back one day...

TDM ur true statesman....

When plp killed UMNO he has revived the new spirit of UMNO....Yah....PKRDAP hate him coz TDM don't kowtow to them....TDM can reply all the bullshit that AnwarDAP scream lie.....

Yah nothing wrong to taksub to a person who have develop Malaysia..as he said he is not an angel but at least we prosper under his leadership....Even he created more Chinese Millionairs than Malay Millioairs but DAP never want to tell this to chinese community.....

Even i don't like BN put i rather choose BN than DAP/PKR BIG LIAR and DAP/PAS who don't have stand...DAP NO TO HUDUD...PAS WE FIGHT FOR HUDUD...So end up PAS is being play out by DAP/PR coz of power...

Between two devil i choose the proven working devil than proven lying devil..

True Statesman? No, he's a snake-oil salesman.

The Malays and UMNO/BN will never learn. Here is a man thrown out of UMNO for racism, broke up UMNO for power and control, used it's membership as toilet paper, plotted against Badawi and campaigned for his son'd contesting UMNO Youth and now an undeserved Cabiner post.

You think he has the People's interest at heart. No, it's like Lee Kuan Yew's ambition - he wants a Mahathir Dynasty.

This man took Crony POlitics to a new level and art form that has cost M'sia $100's of billions.

You still want him, you can have him. But don't say you were not warned!!

Tun is not relevan to our politic nwadays. Youngers generation of voters lokin for d change & today by-elec prove tis!

Bujai,

I followed Dr M's speech on TV. While I agree he has not lost his sarcasm, I couldn't help notice that the 3,000 strong audience which you mention consisted of UMNO members (predominantly Malay)and outsiders (recognised ppl like Rais Yatim etc.), This congregation has already converted. Dr M was not addressing the to be converted.

Hence despite arranging a kitchen sinking exercise by changing UMNO leadership, releasing ISA detainees, using slick and carefully placed news articles to portray a softer side to PM and wife, bringing in Ezam and the three frogs, throwing money at voters, granting land and finally bringing in Dr M, BN has lost both seats by a larger margin.

I think the problem does not lie with Gerakan, MCA and MIC. I saw enough of their leaders in the newspapers. The problem is that UMNO is viewed to be corrupt (and this started before Pak Lah's time) and the component parties are subservient to UMNO. Until this changes, you will not see voters returning to BN.

In fact, I think this country could do with a two party system and this loss is a healthy step to such a system.

The people should be kingmakers. I am a non Malay but I don't think Malay's have nothing to worry about UMNO's decline because Malay's are in the majority and should PR muck about, BN can be voted back into power.

Come Back To Reality, Bro said...

Oh dear, what a nice joke.

Not mentioning about the dinner which Zambry organised for Mahathir in which Mahathir attended but barely 200 people came and Mahathir left in a huff, citing 'he was not feeling well'?

Forgot that already?

Kah...kah...kah...

Thank you bro...
You see the results from Perak and Kedah...and all of you tell me what is wrong with that????

True...people make mistakes, the same as i did all the times..but, for a guy like him...after 22 yrs, still making silly mistakes..what the hell is that?? You fool me once, shame on me, you fool me twice..SHAME ON YOU.

And to Deris Abu... i'm a true Malaysian...but, a bit smarter than Malaysian like you..LOL.
