The police MUST explain

THE police should explain the rationale behind the detention of Sin Chew Daily journalist Tan Hoon Cheng, who was arrested under the Internal Security Act (ISA) on Friday (released Saturday), said Information Minister Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek. He said it would be better if the police explained the detention of Tan, instead of politicians giving their reasons. Shabery said this in response to the statement made by Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar Saturday that Tan's detention was part of the police's swift action to ensure her safety after she received threatening calls. Syed Hamid said police intelligence found the journalist's life to be under threat after she reported about Bukit Bendera Umno chief Datuk Ahmad Ismail's alleged racist remarks made during campaigning for the Permatang Pauh by-election last month.

Hi Jai,

Forget about the ISA detainees, focus on the UMNO drum beat, they are going to war.., wow TS Muhiyyuddin team up with Najib and the gang. (Inclusive our Datuk Ali- Malacca CM)

Pity AAB, he should realised now, he has no support from his own MKT except for Shabery Chik and Zaid Ibrahim.

What say you, support Muhiyyudin or not? Dont be KJ lapdog please.

the police were just doing their job, bro. dont blame them, they wont move until they receive order. those who issued the order must be blamed. we have not use ISA for so many years. why now?

hashim harris,
i am totally out of politics and i dont belong to the ruling or the opposition parties. my views are privately mine. i dont criticise blindly, either.

wong,
that's exactly they should do. we are against ISA. the police wont act without instruction from the minister.... siapa itu menteri aaar?

dannalli,
macam mano pun, polis kono bertindak ateh arahan mentori kalau bondo ni bersangkut paut dengan ISA. polis cuma buleh menjalankan tugas biaso polis dalam kes-kes jenayah dan sebagainyo seperti yang termaktub dalam bidang kuaso dio. cumo dalam ISA ni, mestilah ado arahan pehak ateh. dio tak buleh gata-gata tahan orang bahawa ISA tanpa arahan mentori. ni pun dah mulo nak kono saman nampak eh...

bujai said...

isa bonet,
i believe after so many years without ISA, the ministry and the police were tempted to relive it again... for fun, maybe?

anon,
kes ahmad ismail ni kita serah pada pihak berkuasa je.

tentang nak tahan bloggers tu pun hak kerajaan. tapi kalau boleh, janganlah.

WHY ME? go ahead laaa!

adik,
