Tourism 'traitors'... WHO?

I laughed at a statement made by Tourism Minister Azalina Osman that there were traitors who tried to bring down the country's tourism industry.

Who could they be, YB? The travel agents? The rakyat? The Press? or your own staffs...

Dont act like a kindergarten girl la, sis, who only knows how to find someone to blame for each time she loses her pencil or sharpener.

Look at your ministry first, the tourism catalogues and other forms of promos your pals produced. Is it compatible, at least to the sets produced by Botswana or Croatia?

Making general accusations will not help the industry, neither will it boost your popularity. Why not arrange a special tourism symposium among travel agents and operators, the Press, hoteliers and other related sectors.

Listen to what they've got to say and ask..... but of course no questions like 'bila mau kawin?'

MOST OF OUR TOURISM BROCHURES ARE OF THE SAME CONTENTS. SOME ARE ALREADY OUTDATED, OBSELETE.

BLAME THE MINISTRY FOR APPOINTING USELESS AGENTS FOR THIS KIND OF JOB.

ALSO, BLAME THE GOVERNMENT FOR SPENDING TOO LITTLE FOR TOURISM.

oli ohm,

the promos are good but not enough, i suppose. we need a pro-active approach in selling our tourism packages to the whole world.

tourism is a rewarding industry if it is properly managed.

in many countries, including in Africa, tourism industry contributes to 35 per cent of their GDP.

i think azalina was trying to find scapegoats to cover the ministry's inability to perform.

the minsitry should look into its organisation first, rather than blaming others.

there are many weaknesses at the ministry. if not, our tuorism products would have sold like goreng pisang panas.

i agree with you that botswana, once one of the poorest countries in the world, is now booming from its tourism industry.

with not so many 5-star hotels and 5-star attraction, except the zambezi and savannah adventures, thay have nothing else.

malaysia is rich with natural beauties. why not the ministry find a solution as to how to enhance its presentation and woo more visitors?

bujai,
i think azalina, too, wants some attention as so much focus is given to paklah, anwar and najib

she only knows how to find faults in others.

what about her own ministry?

if the ministry is successful enough in marketing out tourism products, why is there less tourists came to our country during the first 3 months of this year?

cakap saja pandai

Azalina got nothing much to do. She is single and lonely, maybe. So, she created this issue to attract attention.

awi,

who says she's lonely? she's very busy as a minister and.....

Every year we have been told how many tourists have visited Malaysia, and how much money have been generated by these same tourists, who are largely coming from Singapore.. the regular people who came to see their uncles and aunties...

Someone must really calculate HOW MUCH MONEY THEY HAVE SPEND .. in order to gain such number of touris arrival and compare with other countries.. can please please include the Tourism ministry and Tourism Malaysia's budget + any other special budget like Visit Malaysia Year etc.. and compare oh please compare with other countries...
