'Till the last drop of blood'

DEFEND your country's sovereignty 'till the last drop of blood, says the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin in his Warriors Day 2008 address via RTM1 last night.

He said the exemplary conduct and sacrifices of past soldiers in defending the religion, race and country should be a source of inspiration and an example to present day soldiers.

"Although our country believe in peace and harmony, and have good ties with other countries, we still need a strong security forces in meeting threats to the country's sovereignty," he said, adding that the people must appreciate the undivided loyalty of the security forces as their sacrifices had created a peaceful and prosperous country.

DAULAT TUANKU!

However Tuanku, our country is becoming a laughing stock. Our politicians are clawing at each other. Sodomy, regarded by Islam as one of the most disgusting element, is being toyed around. Cross-accusations of murder, graft and other non-Islamic wrongdoings are widespread.

Defending the country should include upholding its good name, the judiciary and serving the rakyat without bias. We salute the army and other security forces for their loyal service but who is safeguarding the country's integrity, morale and dignity?

bro bujai,

nobody is defending our country's dignity now.

maybe we should hire some foreigners to do it for us... the singaporeans, for instance...

what do you mean by hiring the singaporeans? why not israel?

if the morale of our leaders are so low, how can they manage to uphold our country's dignity and integrity?

they are now too busy holding on to their buttocks...

What the public dont know is that the Armed Forces has its own kind of politics and defending the country is not the most important thing on the agenda of the top military brass. They are jostling for position which will unable them to rake as much money while still in service. Recently the Director of Military Intelligence in his press statement regarding RPK's allegation said that the military intelligence does not indulge themselves in the local political scene, which to people in the know is a blatant outright lie. It is an open secret that the military intelligence officers are the ones behind the postal votes and part of their work scope is to sense the swing on the ground but the last election they got it all wrong, they have been working for UMNO for as long as they exist and there is big money for the kind of work and the head as usual will get extra funding from politicians and businessmen for their annual vacation or even a pilgrimage to Mecca. As a friend stated, they dont make military officers like they use to.

It will be interesting to see how the army will respond in the current political turmoil. The recent show of force during the anti oil price hike rally is an indication that the army will side the government of the day. So folks, at the end of the day, we have to defend ourselves as nobody will...not the police nor the military.

why is Tuanku still talking about race, religion and country?

Our religion has been spit on by the Umnocrats

Our race? What race? I am pakistani, second generation. My Pakistani grandfather fought against the communists for Malaya and became Head of the Istana negara Guards...so which race are you talking about? Does Islam care about race or justice and equality?

Country? What country do we have left? Everyone is laughing at us.We are a nation torn apart by greed, lust for power, corruption and self-interest and racism.

daulat tuanku...

(hope we meet again at the gold class)
